  • Jaime Robertson

    DIRECTOR

    Jaime Robertson has a passion for creating community and finding ways for each child to fall in love with learning. She is a certified teacher, with 15 years of experience in the fields of Special Education (undergraduate) and School Administration (graduate). Jaime has worked in public education and currently homeschools her own children. For the past decade, Jaime has taught as an Assistant Professor in Liberty University’s School of Education. In this capacity, Jaime has supervised student teachers in Central VA challenging and coaching them in current best practices of education. Serving as the Family Director at her beloved church, Jaime has a front row seat to see kids light up in the Presence of the Almighty. Her family loves to seek adventure in the great outdoors, from National Parks to the mud in their own backyard.

  • Gwyn Tatum

    CURRICULUM DIRECTOR

    Gwyneth Tatum’s professional goal is to enhance the education of children through innovate and hands-on programming using student-centered learning and differentiation strategies in a collaborative environment. To accomplish this goal she has served many of the stakeholders in education. She has coached teachers across the country through the Federal Department of Education; enriched families through innovative programming as the Director of Education of Amazement Square; written curriculum for homeschool groups, museum education programs, and public schools; and has been a full-time teacher in public school classrooms and non-profit educational settings. Gwyneth has homeschooled her two children for four years. Together, the family enjoys worshiping with their church family, playing in creeks and enjoying the fire pit, and searching out Thai restaurants.

  • Sarah Hamel

    LOWER SCHOOL PRINCIPAL

    Sarah Hamel has served as an elementary teacher for 12 years. She loves working with young students to support them in building confidence with foundational skills. She firmly believes in the importance of meeting the individual needs of the whole child and partnering with families to help students reach their full potential. Sarah is certified in elementary education as well as ESOL and has taught full-time in public schools for 10 years and part-time at Compass Academy for 2 years. She has gained experience in and found a love for supporting teachers through her work at Compass as well as in supervising student teachers through Liberty University. She spends her home days chasing after her 2-year-old daughter and preparing for the arrival of her son in early 2025. Sarah and her family can be found going on walks and trying new recipes!
